Wireless Internet Connection

Eduroam

Please install eduroam on your devices via Eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT) and select your home institution. Your device will identify a valid eduroam access point and log-in automatically. Your password for your online identity is provided to you by your home institution. Wherever you see ‘eduroam’ appear in your list of Wi-Fi networks, you can get online.

BayernWLAN

The LRZ supports the initiative ‘BayernWLAN’ with the provision of infrastructure and thus contributes to the expansion of the network: More than 2500 access points of the Munich Scientific Network provide access to BayernWLAN. Internet users can now log in to @BayernWLAN free of charge via the LRZ access points (see the map on https://www.wlan-bayern.de/#/ for the locations of the access points in the city).
How to connect:
WLAN Name: @BayernWLAN
After choosing the WLAN you will be asked to connect to the network by clicking the “connect” button [Verbinden] in order to accept the terms of use.

M-WLAN: Free WiFi at Munich open spaces

Also, a collaboration of Stadtwerke München, the municipal energy suplier, M-net, the Munich internet and telecommunication provider as well as muenchen.de, the official Website for the City of Munich, have set out to provide great open spaces like the Marienplatz with free wireless LAN. It's for free and it's fairly easy to use.
How to connect:
WLAN Name: M-WLAN Free Wi-Fi
After choosing the WLAN you will be asked to connect to the network by clicking the “connect” button to accept the “terms of use”.
You will be automatically logged off after one hour.
